How deeply do we penetrate the material ?

The depth of penetration depends on the technology used : With a mechanical solution we will go in by 60 to 100µm approximately as from the surface of the material. With a laser we will go in by approximately 10µm more than the thickness of the metallization.

What are the through-hole plating methods ?

We offer 3 solutions : LPKF EasyContac : copper-alloyed rivets that are inserted manually, low cost, but the minimum diameter of 0.6 internal and 0.8mm external is limiting. LPKF Proconduct : chemical-free conductive paste easy to use. However, we cannot control the thickness of the paste deposited. LPKF Contac S4: electroplating copper deposition, the result will be similar […]

Mechanical or laser : what to choose?

Mechanical solutions are ideal for standard materials with thicknesses >200µm. However as soon as you want to do flexible circuits, or specific materials such as Rogers for example or that there is a need for traces and / or isolations <100µm, a laser becomes a must.

All you ever dream to know about LPFK tools...

What is the lifetime of a tool ? The lifetime of each tool is managed statistically. CircuitPro registers the distances and once the maximum distance is reached it indicates to the user that the tool needs to be replaced. The maximum distance of wear of a tool is variable and depends of the type of […]
